Description
Horn and Headlight Relay for Pride and Peugeot Vehicles
The horn and headlight relay in Pride and Peugeot vehicles is responsible for controlling the electrical current to the horn and headlights. This component uses an internal coil and electrical contacts to direct a higher current from the battery to the horn or headlights, while allowing a much lower current—coming from the horn button or headlight switch—to activate the relay. This design helps prevent damage to switches and buttons caused by high current loads.
Horn Relay (Horn Automat Relay)
In most vehicles, the horn system consists of the horn itself, a relay (automat), and a button or switch located on the steering wheel.
When the driver presses the horn button, a small electric current flows through the switch and energizes the relay coil.
As a result, the relay switches a larger current from the battery to the horn, producing the horn sound.
Headlight Relay (Headlight Automat Relay)
The headlight relay is responsible for controlling the power supplied to the vehicle’s front and rear lights.
This relay is typically installed near or inside the fuse box.
When the headlight switch is turned on, a small current is sent to the relay, activating it. The relay then allows a stronger current from the battery to power the headlights, ensuring stable and reliable lighting performance.
